Study storage

Your answers, progress, goals, saved lessons and display preferences stay in local storage until you reset or clear them. The service worker caches app files for reliable loading. A learncanada.free-study.v1: entry stores a complete public study download for offline use, usable for up to 30 days before refresh. It contains no purchase credentials or paid content. These features support your learning and work with analytics switched off.

Purchased course

If you choose Download for offline, the learncanada-offline-course database holds the course on this device. Access works for up to 30 days after a successful online access check, capped by the verified subscription expiry, then needs refreshing. Turning the download off removes it without removing study progress.

Purchase storage

Website purchase access uses the necessary __Host-learncanada_purchase cookie with a one-year lifetime. Native apps keep a purchase credential in secure storage under learncanada.purchase-session.v1, separately from study progress and without iCloud synchronisation. RevenueCat also maintains purchase identity and state for buying and restoring. These support the purchase service and are independent of optional analytics consent. Clearing study data or deleting the app does not delete provider purchase records; see the privacy policy.

Privacy preference

learncanada.privacy.v1 remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics for 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice lasts only on the current page.

Optional analytics

After acceptance of the current choice, learncanada.smoke.session stores a random session ID and learncanada.smoke.cohort stores a campaign label in session storage. We send these with visits, learning activity, offer views and checkout starts to our own server. With the same consent, a verified initial website order can be linked to its session and source using its plan, amount, currency and a hashed order reference. The optional learncanada.campaign.pending session entry holds a pending checkout reference for up to 24 hours while verification completes. These records stay in Learn Canada's Cloudflare database, have a 90-day retention period and are removed by daily automatic cleanup. They are not shared with Meta or forwarded to PostHog. There are no advertising trackers, PostHog browser scripts, PostHog cookies, automatic click capture or session recordings.

Optional study activity

Separately turning on Share study activity in Preferences stores learncanada.beta.v1, a random installation identifier used to count returns and lesson completion across sessions. Turning study activity or analytics off removes this identifier. These events are kept for up to 180 days; see the privacy policy.

Rejecting analytics removes those session entries and any pending order attribution and stops future events. It keeps your study progress and checkout available. A previous analytics acceptance must be renewed for this purchase-attribution purpose; a previous refusal remains off. Previously received events follow the retention periods in our privacy policy.
